The LMU Academy has moved to Fraueninsel in the middle of Lake Chiemsee. Further education and training courses take place here.

It all starts at the harbor, because to arrive on the island, you meet at the landing stage in Prien or Gstadt, load your suitcases and bags and let yourself be sailed across Lake Chiemsee.

The LMU Academy Fraueninsel is an initiative of LMU Medicine, which is supported by the Munich University Society. In the seminar rooms, participants can learn intensively, engage in team building and get to know new colleagues. Those staying for two days or longer can easily stay overnight on site.

"The aim of the academy is to promote lifelong learning. After all, you never stop learning, especially in medicine, and it was very important to us to create a suitable framework for this," says Professor Martin Fischer, Dean of Studies for Human Medicine and Director of the Institute for Didactics and Educational Research in Medicine.

Together with Professor Oliver Jahraus, Vice President of LMU, he opened the academy in January."There is hardly a better start to a training course than leaving everything behind you on dry land. This makes it all the easier to devote yourself to learning together and fully engage with the team. I am delighted that we can now make this possible for colleagues at LMU and LMU Klinikum."

The academy can be booked by all institutions: You can find more information on the website: https://www.lmu-fraueninsel.de
