Immune to respiratory infections? Take part in the KoCo19-Airway study
Respiratory pathogens such as influenza viruses, SARS-CoV-2 or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can lead to infections with varying degrees of severity in humans. Immunological research results from the Prospective COVID-19 Cohort Munich on breakthrough infections after vaccination indicate that immune cells in the upper respiratory tract play an important role in the immunological control of respiratory viral infections.
This will be investigated in more detail in the ongoing KoCo19-Airway study.
The study in brief
The aim of the KoCo19-Airway study is to better understand the immune response in respiratory viral infections in order to improve vaccination strategies and support long-term protection against respiratory viruses.
