On Monday, April 22, PD Dr. med. Norbert Heinrich and Dr. Iván Noreña from the Tuberculosis Research Unit of the Tropical Institute at the LMU Klinikum visited the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Instituto de medicina tropical) Alexander von Humboldt in Lima, Peru.

The two researchers from the LMU Klinikum were received by Dr. Eduardo Gotuzzo, honorary member of the IMTAvH, Dr. Carlos Seas, head of the Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Infections, and Dr. Patricia Espinoza and Tatiana Cáceres, both researchers in the Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Infections at the Instituto de medicina tropical Alexander von Humboldt.

During a tour of the facilities and laboratories of the Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Infections, the scientists discussed the possibility of future collaboration between the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the LMU Klinikum München and the Instituto de medicina tropical Alexander von Humboldt at the University of Cayetano Heredia in Lima.
