Further information on the course:
Every year, almost 5 million Germans travel to tropical and subtropical countries. In addition to the USA, vacation regions such as Thailand, Bali, the Caribbean, but also parts of Africa such as Gambia, Senegal, Kenya, Namibia and the Republic of South Africa have long since become destinations for mass tourism.
Around 1.5 million Germans fall ill every year while on vacation. This requires us to have extensive and up-to-date specialist knowledge on the correct prophylaxis, but also on the detection and treatment of imported diseases.
This concerns us all as doctors providing care, as specialized institutions such as tropical institutes cannot cope with the number of patients on their own.
The course offered here aims to provide up-to-date, practice-oriented basic knowledge - based on the recommendations of the - which will enable you to deal with everyday travel medicine requirements better than before.
Course participants receive a workbook in which they can look up and consolidate all the topics covered. Finally, a multiple-choice questionnaire allows you to test your acquired knowledge and obtain the DTG's "Travel Medicine Certificate".
The topic is not only interesting, it opens up a view of global health problems beyond the usual everyday practice, it can also be a new mainstay in the private practice in times of budgeting.
The workshop "Travel medicine marketing in practice" can offer valuable tips for practical implementation through mutual discussion.
