The examination rooms of the nuclear medicine clinic at the Innenstadt and Großhadern sites are equipped with state-of-the-art examination devices from Philips and Siemens. A total of 17 camera systems (including two 3-head and several 2-head gamma cameras, two positron emission tomographs (PET) and a combined PET/CT device, which is operated jointly with our radiology colleagues) are used to offer the entire range of nuclear medicine examinations.
While the nuclear medicine clinic in Großhadern is concentrated at one location, it has two further examination areas in the city center in addition to the main location in the Medical Clinic, namely in the
- Medical Polyclinic, and in the
- Dr. von Hauner Children's Hospital, where particularly child-friendly examination rooms are available. Here, a double-headed SPECT camera (PRISM 2000XP, Philips) is used for child-friendly nuclear medicine diagnostics, in line with comparable centers in London, Paris, Chicago, Washington, Los Angeles and Toronto.
