Patient Care
As part of the Musculoskeletal University Center Munich (MUM), the Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (IMM) participates in patient care. The Director of the Institute, Professor Eric Hesse MD/PhD, provides interdisciplinary clinical care to national and international patients with metabolic- and rare musculoskeletal diseases. The outpatient clinic is dedicated but not limited to adult patients with diseases like:
- Primary and secondary forms of osteoporosis
- Early onset osteoporosis
- Hereditary forms of osteoporosis
- Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI)
- Short stature / skeletal dysplasia
- Syndromal diseases with involvement of the skeletal system
- Osteopetrosis / osteosclerosis
- Hereditary hypophosphatemia (XLH)
- Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO)
- Paget's disease
- Hypophosphatasia (HPP)
- …many other rare diseases affecting the skeleton
