Practice networks

Teaching practice network
Our teaching practice network has grown to around 300 teaching doctors: all experienced, practicing GPs who teach our students on site in their GP practices - and some also in lectures and seminars. We are proud to have so many outstanding GPs among our network!
Are you, dear colleague, interested and delighted in introducing our subject to students in the second stage of their studies in human medicine? This is possible in the framework of a teaching practice.

Research Practice Network
Competent general practice requires serious research in appropriately oriented institutions. To ensure that this research remains practice-oriented, we need GPs who are firmly involved in clinical care as our partners. The GP practice teams in our research network can implement sophisticated scientific studies and at the same time bring relevant questions - as a kind of commission - to university research.
In recent years, numerous practice teams have already successfully participated in research projects of the Institute. With the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), we will establish a Bavarian Research Practice Network (BayFoNet) over the next four years across the locations of Munich (LMU & TUM), Erlangen (FAU), Würzburg (UKW) and Augsburg (UA). The spokesperson of this network is Prof. Dr. med. Ildikó Gágyor (Head of the Institute of General Medicine at the University Hospital of Würzburg). We invite GP practice teams to become an accredited member of the "GP Research Network of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University" to increase medical knowledge for our patients.
