Doctorates at the Institute of General Practice
Cutting-edge research for people with depression (DFG-GRK 2621)
GPs are crucial for patients with depression, as they usually make the initial diagnosis and take the lead in treatment. Physical and other mental illnesses mask symptoms and make treatment more difficult. In Munich, the DFG Research Training Group "Predictors and Clinical Outcomes of Depressive Illnesses in General Practitioner Care (POKAL, DFG-GRK 2621)" has been developing new diagnostic and treatment approaches since October 2021. The 2nd doctoral cohort will start on October 1, 2024.
14 doctoral positions to be filled
POKAL brings together cutting-edge research from the Universities of Excellence Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität (LMU), the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and their two clinics at one location of the new German Center for Mental Health. POKAL enables researchers from the fields of medicine, psychology, pharmacy, health and nursing sciences and computer science to complete a doctorate.
