Pharmacotherapy Quality Circle (PTQZ) - Practical training for safe drug therapy
Safe and effective drug therapy is a central challenge in GP care. With the Pharmacotherapy Quality Circle (PTQZ), we offer practice-oriented training that provides GPs with a platform for interdisciplinary exchange on current pharmacotherapy issues.

Our quality circle combines clinical experience and scientific expertise. Together we create a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between practice and research.

Aims of the circle:
- Deepening knowledge of drug therapy safety
- Exchange on complex cases and challenges from everyday practice
- Discussion of current scientific findings and their relevance for GP practices
- Promotion of critical and reflective prescribing practice
Procedure & framework conditions
- Keynote lecture & case discussion: Each session begins with a thematic input from the research team, followed by a moderated discussion of real cases.
- Case contributions from practice are expressly encouraged - bring your own challenges or examples of experience.
- Confidential setting: All contributions will be treated confidentially; the circle sees itself as a protected space for collegial exchange.
- Composition of the group: The quality circle is aimed at GPs in private practice and doctors in further training. The group is deliberately mixed in order to learn from each other - which is why pharmacists are also involved.
- HZV recognition & CME: The event is recognized for HZV participation and certified with continuing medical education points from the Bavarian State Medical Association.
Dates 2025:
📅 19.03.2025 - Introduction to multi-medication
25.06.2025 - Deprescribing psychotropic medication
📅 17.09.2025 - Fall Risk Increasing Drugs (FRIDs) in geriatric patients
📅 17.12.2025 - Guideline-compliant therapy with levothyroxine
📍 The sessions take place on Wednesdays from 17:00 to 18:30 at the City Center Campus in the rooms of the Institute of General Practice.
