Psychological aspects of the vaccination decision in general practice (PIA)
GP practice teams play the most important role in achieving sufficiently high vaccination rates among the chronically ill!
The recruitment of our questionnaire-based observational study is successfully coming to an end. Using validated instruments, we asked patients about the areas of self-management, the doctor-patient relationship, and the psychological aspects of their vaccination decision.
After evaluating the results, the aim is to formulate an intervention specifically related to the mapped factors to strengthen the vaccination communication structure in the practice.
In order to test the scope of such an intervention for its practicability and feasibility in everyday practice, we would like to invite you to participate in our feasibility study!
Aim of the study
To test the feasibility of an intervention specifically tailored to GP practices to specifically address vaccination hesitancy and thereby improve vaccination rates, particularly among the chronically ill.
Why should you participate?
- You create awareness for the necessity of vaccinations among vulnerable patients (reminder function for practice team & patients).
- You create the basis for patient-centred communication in the practice
- You receive a small expense allowance
- You actively participate in research in the GP practice
- You get to know the development process of an intervention
Brief description of the procedure
1) Use patient management software to invite patients by form letter:
- Patients 18 years and older who are enrolled in a DMP diabetes mellitus type 1 or type 2, bronchial asthma/ COPD, coronary heart disease or breast cancer.
- Patients who are enrolled in a DMP for diabetes mellitus type 1 or type 2, bronchial asthma/ COPD, coronary heart disease or breast cancer + suffer from a diagnosed depression and/or anxiety disorder (ICD list see here).
2) We will send you all the study documents and an editable form letter with which you can inform your patients about
the questionnaire survey.
3) If the patient is interested, he/she sends the completed documents directly to us.
4) You and your practice team evaluate the process.
If we have aroused your interest and you would like to participate, we would be pleased to hear from you!
