Dragon boat race 2025: Our "wave breakers" paddle for the title on the Olympic Lake
On July 4, 2025, it was time for our team to paddle into the water and full speed ahead! The 14th TUM dragon boat race against the LMU took place on the Olympic Lake in Munich - and we were there as a "breakwater" crew alongside 15 other boats!
With a lot of energy, team spirit and good humor, our paddlers delivered a thrilling race - after all, the title "Master of the Olympic Lake" was at stake! As always, the course went through the entire Olympic Lake (250 m) and required full physical exertion for 1 ½ to 2 minutes at a time. Even if it wasn't quite enough for first place in the end, it was absolutely worth the fun and we proved that team spirit and power are definitely among our strengths! LMU definitely came out on top in the professors' race against TUM - and thus secured an important victory! :) As every year, the original costumes, battle cries and team names of the participating teams were an absolute highlight and a great atmosphere was guaranteed!
We are proud of our crew and are already looking forward to the next rematch in 2026!
