Prof. Jochen Gensichen and Dr. Konrad Schmidt were awarded the Hufeland Prize 2017 for the SMOOTH study "Safe living after sepsis". The prize is awarded annually by a jury of German doctors on behalf of Deutsche Ärzteversicherung for pioneering achievements and outstanding research events in preventive medicine. Gensichen and Schmidt share the prize, which is endowed with 20,000 euros, with Dr. Detlef Gysan from Cologne.
