AVA - reminds and informs you about your vaccinations
The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) recommends annual vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 for all people over the age of 60 in Germany, but vaccination rates in this vulnerable group are currently still inadequate. 12-18% of people over 60 suffer from mild cognitive impairment.
Increasing vaccination rates requires resources that will not be available to the necessary extent in GP practices for the foreseeable future. Our aim is to counteract this lack of resources by using AVA ("AI-supported Vaccination Assistant"), an AI-supported, target group-specific language assistant. This can relieve the organizational burden on GP practices in favour of better patient-centred care.
Our target group for the AVA project is people over the age of 60 with mild cognitive impairment. We have trained and adapted AVA specifically to the needs of this group.
Aim of the main study
To test the non-inferiority of the target group-specific adapted language assistant AVA for telephone vaccination reminders and advice compared to telephone vaccination advice given by medical assistants in GP practices.
Why should you support us?
- You are supporting an innovative project to conserve resources
- You are actively shaping the framework conditions for the use of artificial intelligence in GP care
- You contribute to improved vaccination protection for vulnerable patients
- You will receive an expense allowance
Brief description of the current pilot study
The evaluation of the practical suitability of AVA is based on extensive, active and as practical as possible test runs of the study participants with the AVA voice assistant. Afterwards, we look forward to receiving your detailed feedback and suggestions for further development.
The study is currently aimed at GPs, junior doctors and medical assistants as well as interested members of the public.
Total time required approx. 2h
