Forschungsschwerpunkte:
• Untersuchungen von Zahnhartsubstanzen (Schmelz, Dentin, Wurzeldentin) und Kariesdiagnostik: Mineralisation und Demineralisation mittels Mikro-CT und Transillumination
• Untersuchungen der optischen Eigenschaften von Zahnhartsubstanzen und dentalen Werkstoffen
• Untersuchungen von Knochen und Knochenersatzmaterialien
• Untersuchungen des adhäsiven Verbunds zwischen Zahnhartsubstanzen und dentalen Werkstoffen, z.B. bei direkter Füllungstherapie, endodontischen Behandlungen und koronalen Versorgungen
• Untersuchungen der Polymerisationsschrumpfung dentaler Komposite
• Untersuchungen von Zahnbürsten, Abrasion von Zahnhartsubstanzen und dentalen Werkstoffen
• Untersuchungen von 3D-gedruckten Materialien zur indirekten Versorgung
• Bildgebung und Diagnostik: Mikro-CT, Raster-Elektronen-Mikroskop (REM), Nahinfrarottransillumination und Laserscanner
• Simulation: Finite-Elemente-Analyse, Kausimulation und Zahnputzsimulation
