As a key component of the the project “A Trilateral Alliance for Medical Education” within the SDG Partnerships 2025–2028 programme, the course brings together students from Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Germany to explore global health challenges in the context of the 2030 Agenda. The first sessions have sparked great discussions, creative group work and intense collaboration across continents.
Participants engage with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance for health, inequality, climate resilience, and medical education. They compare the health and educational systems of the three partner countries, analyse climate-related health issues, work in international small groups, and develop interactive learning materials (e.g., videos, case vignettes, or scripted dialogues).
The virtual exchange consists of five online plenary sessions (8, 15, 22, 29 November and 6 December 2025), complemented by group work and preparatory tasks in between. The sessions aim to strengthen global health competencies, foster shared problem-solving on issues such as climate change and health inequities, and build sustainable collaboration among the three partner institutions.
