The CIHLMU Symposia Series on Global Health is an annual, PhD and Master’s student-organized full day event that brings together international experts, researchers, and practitioners to address pressing global health challenges through a One Health lens. In 2026, we focus on how overlapping crises (from armed conflict and disease resurgence to economic volatility and supply-chain disruptions) expose the fragility of health systems and demand greater efforts to build resilience.
Addresses an even more pressing issue in the dynamics of today. It asks: "How One Health can be put into practice in a world where donor support is gradually dwindling with geopolitical tensions, and rising inequalities between high-income countries and LMICs. We will discuss new ways to improve governance, strengthen surveillance and supply chains, and include environmental sustainability in health and development plans. The aim is to co-create pathways on building fair, resilient, and sustainable One Health systems that can endure crises and protect health for future generations.
The symposium will include keynote addresses and a plenary discussion among experts. It will focus on the following key themes:
