Bullous autoimmune diseases
Main Fields of Research
Our research activities focus on bullous autoimmune diseases, especially bullous pemphigoid. We are working on several projects analysing the laboratory diagnostics and the pathophysiology of this disease group. We monitor the effectivity of current therapeutic options for pemphigus, and participate in clinical studies offering new, innovative therapy options for our patients. We also study the psychological aspects of autoimmune connective tissue diseases with a special focus on itch, depression, life quality and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, we investigate fungal infections from an epidemiological point of view.
