Atopic dermatitis

Main Fields of Research

Our research group is interested in clinical, experimental, therapeutic and educational aspects of atopic dermatitis and has a strong focus on interdisciplinary work and infectious complications of atopic dermatitis. Host-pathogen interactions and inborn errors of immunity are additional topics of our interest. Moreover, the signature of chronic inflammatory skin disease such as atopic dermatitis is compared with chronic inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis in the interdisciplinary ImmUniverse project funded by the European Union. Finally, our group is active in international guideline work (lead authorship of the European Atopic Dermatitis Guideline).
